FRICHE LA BELLE DE MAI (FBDM)

It is one of the largest and oldest (1992) former wastelands rehabilitated as a large creative hub in Europe. The Friche la Belle de Mai has an international reputation thanks to its pioneering character, its singularity in the cultural landscape in terms of scale, historicity and practices. It seeks to engage itself by sharing its capacity, experience and engineering skills in urban regeneration by fostering culture and arts role as a lever for a more inclusive and fair society.

La Friche is a current partner of T-Factor (H2020 project) as an advanced case to understand what role requalified

industrial spaces and transitional uses have played in the urban regeneration process in the Belle de Mai district and

more widely in Marseille.
