GreenFeel/PLAI x BULB: Exploring Biodesign, Biodiversity & Volunteering

In Autumn, BULB’s Angela Pisani visited Plai & Greenfeel, our project partner and pilot site in Timisoara, Romania. The exchange explored biodesign, biodiversity, and community engagement.

The week began with an introduction to the social and creative initiatives at Ambasada and GreenFeel, followed by a hands-on biodesign workshop using anthotypes—UV-sensitive plant prints made with turmeric and alcohol. Participants discussed local plant knowledge, responsible foraging, and the ecology of place, connecting environmental awareness with creative practice.

The exchange also focused on questions of volunteering and community building, from motivating and integrating volunteers to the social value of upskilling through volunteer work.

Future DiverCities at ECHN Hubs Meet-Up

From October 15th until 17th, 2025, Future DiverCities participated in this year’s Culture and Creativity Conference, Bautopia 6, organised by the European Creative Hubs Network with the support of Basis Vinschgau Venosta in Silandro, Italy.´

Amid today’s volatile social, political, and economic landscape, creative initiatives face rising costs, policy uncertainty, and global disruptions. Under the title “Recorvery, Resilience, Resistance”, the conference explored how these spaces can adapt and reaffirm their role as vital infrastructures for civic life and artistic experimentation.

Representing Future DiverCities, Elisabeth Bechara from our project leader La Friche la Belle de Mai presented the project’s regenerative actions across eight European cities. Through ecological, participatory, and artistic approaches to urban transformation, FDC fosters recovery, resilience, and resistance, reviving underused sites and empowering communities to shape more inclusive, sustainable cities.

New Podcast Episode from Trajna

A new episode of the School of the Feral Grounds podcast series has been released!

Following the theme of mechanisms of protection, this new episode explores how we can safeguard nature’s inherent right to exist and flourish, focusing on the legal framework of the Rights of Nature and complementary approaches that shield ecosystems from exploitation. The conversation unfolds within a vibrant landscape of translocal action, from Ecuador’s constitutional recognition of Pachamama as a legal subject to Slovenian Waters Act referendum, raising the question of which concepts can mobilize imagination and take root in practice.
