TWINNING PROGRAM PROPOSED BY ECHN

ECHN has launched a program of exchanges, offering exciting opportunities for collaboration, international exposure, visits, and skills enhancement between the 8 Future DiverCities cultural institutions and the ECHN members. ECHN members will have the chance to share their hub’s expertise and forge valuable partnerships. Focused on community engagement, sustainability, ecology, regeneration and contemporary art, the program aims to foster innovative collaborations among creative hub managers seeking new cross-sectoral cooperation formats, co-creation projects, and knowledge sharing across Europe.
In October 2024, BLIVANDE (Stockholm, Sweden) visited ANTI in Kuopio (Finland). The exchange focused on shared practices in community building and cultural space management, with a specific objective: supporting ANTI’s plans to develop Konepaja, a former train maintenance hall, into a vibrant community hub for the arts.
Next steps
Subtopia (Norsborg, Sweden) will visit KONTEJNER’s new venue in Zagreb (Croatia) to explore economic and environmental sustainability. They will exchange best practices and experiences, developing new strategies and work models, such as creating a visibility and inclusion action plan for the local community and the surrounding neighborhood.
PROSTOR (Split, Croatia) will be hosted by LAMA (Florence, Italy) and participate in the 3rd edition of the art residency in Montagna Fiorentina where they will meet the artists and follow their work in progress.
Craftopia Creative Hub (Thessaloniki, Greece) will collaborate with Public Art Lab (Berlin, Germany) to explore the artistic and legal frameworks for registering the river as a legal entity, raising awareness of environmental urgencies and advocating for non-human entities.
_ARTERIA_LAB (Evora, Portugal) will exchange with Liepaja (Latvia). Both towns hold the title of European Capital of Culture 2027 and this exchange will be a great opportunity not only to contribute to Liepaja’s efforts, but also to understand how they can continue to collaborate and develop joint projects in the longer term.
