Soft Power of Design Thinking as Way for Eco-Social Prospective Impact Assessment by Savonia.
Savonia University of Applied Sciences (Savonia UAS) was founded in 1992 and owned by public authorities (Ltd). Savonia operates in three locations in Eastern Finland: Iisalmi, Kuopio and Varkaus. Savonia UAS offers higher education in over 40 bachelor and master degree programs in the six fields of study: Culture, Business, Natural Resources, Tourism and Hospitality, Engineering, Social Services and Health Care. The multidisciplinary method enables Savonia UAS to create new competences that are needed in working life. The mission of Savonia UAS is to educate professional experts and entrepreneurs for the changing working life, and enable lifelong learning. The key success factors are collaboration, networking, and international expertise.
According to the observations from the first Future DiverCities project and, as the New European Bauhaus states (NEB 2023), responding to complex challenges requires a transdisciplinary approach.
As an interdisciplinary team of representatives from creative professions, Savonia wanted to use their professional assets and bring their future-oriented way of design and creative thinking to the table.
